I’m getting to know AI "personally” and though still intimidated, it can really do some fun stuff!
We are blessed to own a small acreage that my wife and I call Olde Farm. We get to live in an old farmhouse that was built around 1912 by a farmer who retired from his Iowa homestead, moved to Nebraska and built this house with his own hands. It's a traditional "Prairie Box" or "Foursquare" home that has well withstood the test of time.
What used to be 160 acres was subdivided in the 70's, and our story brought us to this wonderful place we love to call home. I felt a little selfish hoarding our now 5-acre plot because it really is a special place. So around 2023, we decided to open it up to RVers through the Boondockers Welcome website.

Over time, we've heard well over 100 stories from adventurous RVers. Many of the stories: Amazing. Some of the stories: Just Good. All of the stories: Definitely worth hearing.
In late 2024 (after the main camping season was past) we recorded our first "Bin-A-While" story. Unfortunately, the audio was horrible, so that one is stuck in the “bummer bin.” We started again in 2025, and as of February of '26, we've captured over 30 stories from wonderful RVers and have been posting to our YouTube channel, @bin-a-while.
Let's face it... we're not keeping up with Mr. Beast or other YouTube sensations. But we are having a blast. And, we want the stories to be heard. They are most definitely worth it.
In early 2026, I decided to try this newsletter format, with a condensed version of each story, assimilated with help from AI - but not based on AI's imagination. These are real stories from real people. After you read each story, you can click through and listen to the entire recording if you'd like.
You may wonder why it’s called Waypoint Writers and not Bin-A-While. Or, you may not! Either way - I landed on that title (for the newsletter) because each of the guests that come through are writing their own stories. They stop at our Waypoint, and we just get to hear, and share those stories together.
